United Kingdom - White Cliffs , Dover
This is the most impressive rock formation I have ever seen, if not the largest, whitest and brightest, so imposing, for its beauty, its color, and its size!!! A gigantic and wonderful “work of art” of nature. The cliffs on the east coast of England are called White Cliffs. They are completely white because they are formed by the same material that we use to make chalk, calcium carbonate. The cliff is located in a very important region economically speaking, as it is located in the port city of Dover, which connects two countries: England and France.
The White Cliff is enormous in size. Over 120 meters high and about 30 kilometers long.

According to researchers, the formation began more than 70 million years ago. However, due to global warming and natural erosion, about 10 cm of the cliffs are lost each year. Therefore, today, the site is preserved. The National Trust is a park that preserves the White Cliffs. Tourists and visitors can enter and see a large part of the cliffs in this park. The site has all the necessary infrastructure, such as parking, restaurants, tea houses, bathrooms, and everything else, and the entrance fee (5 euros) goes to this institution.
There is even a cruise that goes from Dover (the port city) to France, crossing the English Channel. In fact, France is only 35 kilometers away, as the crow flies, from this park.
After visiting the park, another tip for tourists is to visit some attractions in the city of Dover, such as the castle and the museum. The region also has other nearby cities that are worth visiting, such as Sandwich, Worth and Deal. Check out the photos of the places in the slideshow and be amazed!
