The Netherlands - Enkhuizen
There is much to be said about the city of Enkhuizen, as it was of great importance in the 17th century as a port and trading city. It served as a passage for ships during the "golden" age of the Netherlands. Its heyday was around 1600.
To this day, the city preserves beautiful buildings from the 15th century, such as the circular stone tower known as Dromedaris, dating back to 1540.
Walking through the streets of Enkhuizen, you will be able to admire old houses, tree-lined alleys, canals... and of course, it is worth stopping at one of the bars or restaurants that line the main canal to enjoy the beauty of the city.

You can also visit some museums in Enkhuizen, among them, the open-air museum, which shows how part of the North Sea became a freshwater lake today, Lake IJselmeer, a curious and interesting process that happens here in the Netherlands, in several regions, where mankind interfered with nature, transforming turbulent and salty waters into calm lakes.
