United Kingdom - Kent , Leeds Castle

There is a region in the southwest of England known as Kent, or rather, the ‘Garden of England’. And here, you can choose to visit hundreds of gardens and castles. We chose ‘Leeds Castle’, because it was built on two islands. It is simply magnificent! And the garden, not to mention... it is better that you watch the video and enjoy the photos, because there are no words to describe such beauty!

And in this castle, in addition to all the green area, about 3 thousand acres, there are also two gardens: one English style and the other French.

Leeds Castle belonged to six royal families and was later sold to other families and became private property. Visiting the castle is like learning about 900 years of history. The last family to whom the castle belonged left its mark. Lady Baille, the last illustrious resident of the place, loved animals, especially birds, and was very fond of nature and works of art from all over the world. The castle has a huge green area, lakes with beautiful ducks, geese, white and black swans, as well as a special area for birds, especially Australian parakeets and peacocks, Lady Baille's favorites. One of the attractions for visitors today is the falcon shows, which take place every afternoon at 3 pm.

And right in front of this area, there is an open-air maze, like the ones we see in the movies. It's really interesting and fun! And when you find the right path, you will be amazed by the cave, which houses a gigantic sculpture, which also talks when you enter the place! Mystical and with some carved images, among them that of the God Zeus.

It is impressive!

There is a lot to see inside the castle. Dozens of rooms and halls can be seen. Lady Baille's, of course, among others. The family library, with three thousand books and hundreds of works of art spread throughout the rooms. A movie theater was built for the family's visitors.

Oh!!! Of course!!!

The castle also houses a wine cellar, which continues to produce wine. Anyone who wants to can buy and enjoy a souvenir. The local infrastructure includes restaurants, bars, a picnic area, souvenir shops, and even an internal bus, because to see the entire place you need to be strong. But it is worth the ride on the local bus. And at the end of the day, don't miss the English afternoon tea, with a little milk!!! Delicious!
